Hello everyone,
I’m releasing the October 2025 beta update for NebiOS X. This build pushes translations almost to completion while also addressing some of the persistent issues that users have been reporting for a while.
---
🔹 What’s new in this release?
- Control Center translations are now complete. Both Turkish and English users can experience the full interface in their language.
- Screenshot, OSD, and Quick Settings components are fully translated, closing one of the gaps in the user experience.
- The long-standing issue with nebide-pm has been fixed: power buttons and laptop lid events are no longer being suppressed by systemd.
- Fixed a bug where changed keyboard shortcuts were not applied correctly. Custom shortcuts should now work reliably.
- Plus a series of bug fixes and stability improvements across the system.
---
⚠️ Known issue
One problem still remains:
- The Screenshot component still appears in English due to an underlying issue in `napp-runtime`. The fix is ready, but I forgot to integrate it into this beta. It will be addressed in the next release, which may be either another beta or directly the RC build.

🚀 Looking ahead
While reflecting on NebiOS’ roadmap, I realized how exhausting it is to carry such a project alone. Still, I’ve decided to move forward with the concept phase of NebiOS 11.
What does this mean?
- Plans are still fluid, but the first ideas have been laid out.
- Don’t expect major changes right away — the target is to release NebiOS 11 in late 2026.
- The main goal of NebiOS 11 is to address the shortcomings left after the launch of NebiOS X and to gradually improve the overall user experience.
🎨 On the design side:
- The current mix of Flat-Skeuomorphism with Fruitger Aero + Material Design will be retired as the default.
- A new minimalist but original design language will take its place — not a clone of Material Design, but something that keeps NebiOS’ own identity intact.
- Flat-Skeuomorphism will not disappear completely; it will remain as an optional theme in NebiOS 11.
In short, NebiOS 11 will feel very much like a major 2026 update to NebiOS X: not flawless, but more refined, more balanced, and closer to what I want NebiOS to be.
Thank you all for your support and patience.
Best regards,
Sarp M.
